Naye Paise in India - 1957

Rangan is now 13 years. Rupee was divided into 100 small units
and each unit was denoted as “Naya Paisa”. There were all sorts of
conversions and confusions. Rangan spent his time in understanding
conversions and equivalents. Above all he started collecting old coins, as his
father told him
“Rangan ! Soon coins under circulation now will be out of
circulation. It is better you start collecting atleast 2 sets of coins” .
Rangan started collecting 2 sets each of 1 Rupee, 8 annas, 4 annas,
2 annas , 1 anna, ½ anna, ¼ anna, 1/12 anna with good impressions.
Rangan could even get one X Cash coin minted during British Rule. Coin Collection hobby started taking shape and his piggy bank was soon full of old and new coins. |
